It is really, really important for you to know and understand about different acne treatments before you can consider purchasing them. As we all know there is a HUGE variety of different qualities and prices available to choose from. How can you determine what is considered a fair price for a treatment? It really all comes down to what treatment is going to provide YOU with the best possible results.
Acne product manufactures pay agencies extremely large amounts of money to advertise their product & create a demand for it. This is important so people can learn about the available products in the acne line. Prices for advertising have increased dramatically these past couple years & it is coasting manufactures much more than it used to.
Therefore, in order for manufactures to earn a profit from their treatments they have to raise the prices of the products. So the well known acne treatment brands might not be the best option, they could just be well known from advertising and you could just be paying a raised price to support their advertisements. Just something to keep in mind when looking for a product.
The ingredients in the acne treatments also play a large role in the price of the treatment. Costly ingredients make the treatment have higher prices. Often times people can't notice a difference in the expensive ingredients from the regular ingredients.
Location too helps identify the price. Upscale stores carry the expensive & most well known brands, and retail stores carry the lower prices brands that seem more affordable to a larger portion of people.
What I'm trying to say here is that popularity, ingredients and location should not help you determine where to find a product. As you can see each of those things seems to raise, or at least explain a lot of the prices of treatments.
So what should you be looking for when your trying to find a treatment? Well, turn off the TV & don't get your ideas from there for starters. Talk to REAL people who have tried out products & can give you great advice about how theirs works. Make sure to compare products & remember that just because something works on someone, doesn't mean it will work on you! Look at natural products because they often times don't leave side effects, and they usually are reasonably priced. The internet also is a great place to look for treatment options because the advertising costs run lower and the location wont affect the price. Avoid products that you don't understand, there is a reason the manufactures aren't explaining it enough, obviously its flawed.
Something else you should know is that our bodies produce good and bad types of bacteria. Bad bacteria causes acne, good bacteria helps fight it off, and helps clear it up. A lot of products (Proactive, prescription medications, actually a majority of the popular brands) will kill off both the good & bad bacteria. Our bodies fight back by producing excess bacteria (good & bad!!!!) our bodies are used the the average amount of bacteria we usually have & when we have excess it tends to cause more breakouts. These types of products are really good at clearing up acne but aren't good at maintaining or preventing it. Therefore it is important to look into a product that kills only the bad bacteria & keeps the healthy bacteria fighting!
Also products that dry out your face, will cause you to create excess bacteria & oils. The same problems will occur. So make sure you are using a good healthy moisturizer also. An acne treatment that would be well worth your time to look into, that doesn't kill the good bacteria, doesn't waste your money on advertising costs, & uses the healthiest combination of ingredients is explained in this product review.
